Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative and intraoperative nursing care in the Main Operating Room
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, techs and the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth surgical flow
• Maintain patient safety and sterile technique during procedures and transitions of care
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR
• Respond confidently to trauma and emergent situations when called upon
• Support pre-op and post-op patient education and family communication

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential with ability to meet state licensure requirements
• Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience (as listed in the posting)
• Meditech EMR experience (required)
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Operating Room/perioperative experience; trauma and vascular experience preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication and ability to work in fast-paced surgical environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique
• Meditech EMR proficiency for documentation and charting
• ACLS and PALS protocols for acute patient care
• Trauma-informed care and ability to prioritize in emergencies
• Familiarity with vascular procedures and general surgical case mix
• Excellent critical thinking, situational awareness and teamwork
