Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direction and guidance to nursing and support staff on policy interpretation and procedure application
Organize and oversee patient flow across the hospital to ensure timely admissions, transfers, and discharges
Assign and allocate nursing resources effectively to match patient acuity and unit needs
Collaborate with charge nurses, clinical leaders, and the Chief Nursing Officer on administrative decision-making
Monitor staff productivity, deliver constructive feedback, and coach team members to improve performance
Respond to and resolve patient and family complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy
Manage workflow and delegate duties so that staff understand responsibilities and patient care remains uninterrupted
Support clinical operations by troubleshooting issues with advanced equipment (ventilators, IV pumps, invasive lines) as needed

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Montana (required)
Minimum 3 years of RN hospital experience with recent ICU experience preferred
Current CPR certification required
ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Demonstrated leadership experience, ability to supervise staff, and strong conflict-resolution skills
Comfortable working nights and handling a busy, fast-paced workload

Education

Degree from a Nursing Program (ADN, BSN, or diploma) required

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced nursing principles and post-operative patient care
Patient flow management and resource nurse experience
Cardiac monitoring and critical care competencies
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and project development skills
Excellent communication, staff coaching, and customer service orientation
Ability to operate advanced medical equipment and basic office tools
