Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12), 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, includes some weekends

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, delivering safe, timely, and compassionate nursing services
Triage patients rapidly and accurately, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs
Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes in status to ER physicians and mid-level providers
Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in condition and patient response to treatment
Coordinate care and give direction to ED techs, registration staff, and allied health personnel
Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing leadership to support patient flow and quality outcomes

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and procedures
Triage and rapid patient assessment skills
IV therapy and general venipuncture skills
Ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment
Basic computer and office skills for charting and communication
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
