Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy plans
• Design and implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover
• Adjust treatment plans based on data, outcomes, and evolving patient needs

Qualifications

• Current California Occupational Therapy license (required)
• Entry-level or advanced degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) — OTD or M.S./M.A. in OT preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Comfortable working across a variety of diagnoses in a contract rehab setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered mindset

Education

• Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD/MS/MA) preferred; BS with appropriate certification may be considered depending on state requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in OT assessments, ADL/IADL interventions, and therapeutic exercises
• Experience with adaptive equipment recommendations and home safety planning
• Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with PT, ST, nursing and case management
• Familiarity with outcomes-driven rehab practices and care planning
