Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy evaluations and evidence-based interventions across both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Develop individualized treatment plans that restore function, independence, and confidence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, progress, and discharge plans accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home programs, and community resources
• Adapt interventions to a diverse caseload spanning acute and outpatient needs
• Participate in unit meetings and contribute to clinical problem solving and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license (California) — required for practice in-state
• Comfortable and experienced treating both inpatient and outpatient caseloads (roughly 50/50 split)
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
• Ability to work a variable schedule that includes weekends
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines
• Professional, reliable, and committed to patient-centered care

Education

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Master’s or OTD preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluations, ADL training, splinting basics, adaptive equipment recommendations, and discharge planning
• Familiarity with inpatient acute care workflows and outpatient therapy progression
• Proficient documentation practices and clinical reasoning
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively in a variable schedule
• Comfortable educating patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
