Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct, compassionate patient care for medical-surgical and critically ill patients from admission through discharge.
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment, including ventilators, A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps.
Assess patient condition continuously and implement established policies and care plans with minimal supervision.
Act as a clinical leader on the unit: give direction to RN/LPN/CNA and ancillary staff and collaborate with providers and nursing leadership.
Precept and mentor staff, supporting professional development and ensuring high-quality clinical practice.
Coordinate discharge planning and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Practice experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care nursing experience required.
PALS, EPNC, TNCC certifications preferred.
Demonstrated ability to operate invasive monitoring lines, ventilators, chest tubes, and multiple IV pump systems.
Experience in precepting or mentoring clinical staff preferred.

Education

Degree from an accredited Nursing Program

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced nursing principles and procedures
Critical care and medical-surgical nursing skills
Ventilator management and ventilatory support
Central line and A-line management, chest tube care
Multiple IV pump operation and IV management
Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
Discharge planning and care coordination
Leadership and precepting abilities
Comfort with basic office equipment and documentation systems
