Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and guide them through check-in to create a calm, professional first impression
- Communicate with patients clearly in English and Spanish to explain appointments, paperwork, and next steps
- Accurately enter and update patient information in electronic records to keep care coordinated
- Manage dental records filing and maintain organized patient charts with attention to detail
- Answer phones and handle scheduling, appointment confirmations, and referral coordination
- Use tactful verbal explanations when discussing patient inquiries and follow established procedures
- Support clinical teams by ensuring information flows smoothly between patients and providers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a general office setting; dental office experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required and celebrated
- Strong oral and written communication skills with tact and professionalism
- Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute
- Comfortable using Windows Office applications; experience with NextGen, Dentrix, or EPIC is a plus
- Reliable availability for Monday-Friday daytime schedule
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid customer service and front desk skills
- Familiarity with dental terminology and dental records filing
- Proficiency with Windows Office; experience with NextGen, Dentrix, EPIC preferred
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear verbal communication and the ability to explain information tactfully
- Basic data entry and accurate typing at 35 WPM or higher
- Awareness of patient confidentiality and professional boundaries
