Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality neuro-focused nursing care to adult patients using evidence-based practices
• Perform neuro assessments, monitor changes, and escalate concerns promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary teammates to develop and execute patient-centered plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the patient record
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to consults and urgent needs during assigned call days
• Champion patient safety by following infection control protocols and participating in safety huddles
• Support onboarding by completing Trinity skills checklist and maintaining required certifications

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Georgia (must have or be eligible)
• BLS certification required
• Neuro experience required (prior neuro unit or neuroclinical experience)
• Able to complete Trinity checklist, fit test, Trinity respirator evaluation, and required health screenings
• Required immunizations and screenings: COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-Spot)
• Pass Trinity 10 panel drug screen and provide physical/health statement
• Professional, dependable, and able to participate in a 9-10 day per month call rotation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of hospital orientation and unit-specific training

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong neuro assessment skills including LOC, cranial nerves, motor/sensory checks, and intracranial pressure awareness
• Skilled in patient monitoring and recognizing early signs of neurologic deterioration
• Proficient documentation habits and clear communication with the interdisciplinary team
• Comfortable with acute care workflows, medication administration, and safety protocols
• Ability to manage call responsibilities and triage effectively
