Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the Medical/Surgical unit
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans that make a measurable difference
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate timely care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document patient status and interventions clearly and professionally
- Respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate clinical interventions
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact RN license
- BLS required; ACLS and specialty certifications preferred where applicable
- Minimum clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and critical thinking for adult inpatient care
- IV therapy, medication administration, and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
- Patient and family education techniques with a focus on safety and recovery
