Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based occupational therapy evaluations and treatment to help patients regain independence
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, adaptive techniques, and meaningful goals
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate high-quality care
- Document progress clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record to support continuity of care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, adaptive equipment, and safety to promote successful discharge
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem solving and patient-centered planning
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapist license required
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (Master's or OTD preferred)
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
- Clinical experience in outpatient or skilled settings preferred (1+ year recommended)
- Reliable transportation and ability to meet facility scheduling requirements
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required
Education
- Master's or Doctorate (OTD) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL assessments, therapeutic activity planning, and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Excellent clinical documentation and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and patient education skills
- Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary care team
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and productivity expectations
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and maintain clinical excellence
