Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient patient throughput
- Coordinate staffing and surgical schedule flow to optimize OR efficiency
- Provide hands-on patient care as needed while balancing administrative duties
- Precept and orient new team members to elevate clinical competency
- Collaborate with Surgical Services Manager to supervise RNs, technologists, and technicians
- Maintain and update surgical preference cards to support surgical teams
- Communicate clearly and exercise independent judgment to maintain patient safety and quality
Qualifications
- Current Colorado RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years OR experience required
- Minimum of 2 years leadership or charge RN experience required
- Experience with orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and interventional pain management procedures required
- Cerner EMR experience is required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
- CNOR and/or CRNFA certifications preferred
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and electronic health records)
Education
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; ADN or BSN acceptable (BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing and OR workflows
- Expertise in patient throughput and surgical schedule coordination
- Staffing and team leadership skills with a focus on safety and quality
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and electronic documentation
- Ability to update and manage surgical preference cards
- Clear, concise communication and strong clinical judgment
