Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies (XR, CT, MR, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, fluoroscopy) accurately and efficiently
- Provide timely radiology reads to support ER and inpatient care, maintaining high clinical impact
- Perform light interventional procedures such as biopsies, drainages, lumbar punctures, arthrograms and select image-guided interventions
- Communicate findings clearly and collaboratively with referring clinicians to guide patient management
- Participate in quality assurance, protocol optimization, and service improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow billing/credentialing requirements including submission of bill rates
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- Active PA medical license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Experience with XR, CT, MR and fluoroscopy; comfort with nuclear medicine and ultrasound a plus
- Competency in image-guided procedures (biopsies, drainages, arthrograms); light IR experience desirable
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
- Current ACLS/BLS as required by facility policies
Education
- MD or DO; Diagnostic Radiology residency required; fellowship training in subspecialty areas a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven expertise in Diagnostic Radiology and Medical Imaging
- Comfortable reading emergent and routine ER studies under time-sensitive conditions
- Familiarity with PACS, reporting systems, and radiology workflow
- Ability to perform and interpret image-guided biopsies and procedures (CT/US guided)
- Understanding of wRVU productivity expectations and daily volume management
- Attention to quality, safety, and protocol optimization
