Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a busy med/surg unit
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status to spot changes early
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Document care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe transitions home
- Respond effectively to emergencies and mobilize resources when needed
- Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and best-practice care
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in North Carolina (or compact license valid for NC)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
- Minimum 1 year of acute care or med/surg nursing experience preferred
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health screening
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Familiarity with common inpatient procedures and protocols
- Comfort using electronic medical record systems and basic computer tools
- Teamwork, patient advocacy, and time-management abilities
