Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with mobility, transfers and safe use of equipment to prevent falls
• Support dignity and independence by encouraging resident participation in care
• Document care activities accurately and timely in the resident record
• Work collaboratively with nurses and care teams to deliver consistent, high-quality care
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or equivalent) valid in West Virginia — required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Background check and up-to-date immunizations (TB, Hep B, MMR) as per facility policy
• Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with good communication skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred (but new grads welcome if certified)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong basic nursing care skills and knowledge of ADLs
• Comfortable with documentation and basic charting
• Able to follow care plans and clinical instructions accurately
• Good interpersonal skills for resident and family interaction
• Awareness of safety, infection control and patient rights
