Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient conditions with compassion and clinical confidence
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to build and follow patient-centered care plans
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and self-care after discharge
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and professionally
- Respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support unit operations by mentoring colleagues and contributing to a positive culture
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for North Carolina or compact RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Medical Surgical experience preferred; 1+ year of Med/Surg experience ideal
- Current ACLS or other unit-specific certifications a plus depending on unit needs
- Ability to pass background checks and required pre-employment screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- BSN preferred but all accredited nursing education considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- IV therapy and medication administration best practices
- Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation skills
- Patient education and discharge planning abilities
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and support staff
