Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical/surgical unit
- Assess patients regularly and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
- Document care thoroughly and communicate changes in patient condition
- Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in Indiana required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or med/surg nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of medical/surgical nursing practices
- Proficient with medication administration and electronic charting
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Customer-focused bedside manner and patient education skills
