Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a busy med/surg unit
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Monitor and document patient progress and communicate changes promptly
- Support unit workflow and mentor newer staff when needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact licensure where applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtainable
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent med/surg nursing experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide high-quality care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation
- Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring abilities
- Medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Ability to triage and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Customer service mindset with patients and families
