Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient status, create and implement nursing plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document care clearly in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity
• Actively participate in unit-based improvement initiatives and maintain safety standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact RN license
• BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
• Minimum clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Comfortable with IV medications, wound care, and common med-surg procedures
• Reliable, professional, and patient-centered with strong communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medical-surgical nursing assessment and clinical judgment
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Strong teamwork, prioritization, and time-management abilities
• Ability to educate patients and families in a clear, compassionate way
• Basic familiarity with common hospital equipment and monitoring devices
