Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Medical/Surgical unit
• Assess patients, develop and implement nursing plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the EHR clearly and timely
• Advocate for patients and contribute to a positive, safety-focused unit culture

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in North Carolina or compact RN license eligible
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• 1+ years of recent acute care or Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and time management skills
• Proof of immunizations and ability to meet facility-specific onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and care planning
• Medication administration and IV therapy basics
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families and clinical teams
• Basic telemetry knowledge and post-op/post-procedure care
• Infection control practices and patient safety principles
