Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document care and communicate handoffs clearly to ensure continuity
• Support unit initiatives to improve patient experience and clinical quality

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
• Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training considered
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to pass background and health screenings as required by the facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
• Teamwork mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality improvement
