Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and instrumentation for a wide variety of cases (ENT, Ortho, GYN, GU, Hand, General, Plastics, Neuro)
• Scrub and assist surgeons during procedures, maintaining strict sterile technique
• Anticipate surgeon needs and deliver instruments and supplies efficiently to keep cases flowing
• Perform instrument counts and document perioperative events accurately in the charting system
• Collaborate with RNs, charge nurses and OR techs to ensure patient safety and smooth turnover
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to quickly integrate into the team

Qualifications

• Washington State surgical technologist license or equivalent (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• CST preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech in ambulatory or OR settings, ideally in the listed service lines
• Comfort scrubbing for a variety of specialties and working in a fast-paced outpatient OR environment

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent certification (CST preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven scrubbing technique and aseptic practice
• Familiarity with common OR case flow for ENT, Ortho, GYN, GU, Hand, Plastics, Neuro and General surgery
• Basic charting familiarity; minimal Cerner use as a surgical tech
• Efficient instrument handling, counts, and turnover procedures
• Strong teamwork, communication, and situational adaptability
