Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
- Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and behavior, to the nursing team
- Collaborate with rehab therapists to reinforce therapy goals and encourage patient participation
- Provide warm, person-centered care that promotes comfort and emotional well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation of care, observations, and tasks completed
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep patients safe
Qualifications
- Active GNA or equivalent state nursing assistant certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience in long term care or rehab preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- GNA certification or state equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills and comfort assisting with ADLs
- Knowledge of basic vital sign measurement and reporting
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Good communication skills with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Basic documentation skills; experience with electronic charting a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during a busy shift
