Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients with warmth and professionalism
- Obtain and record vital signs and patient history accurately
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and exam preparation
- Document visits and update the medical record in a timely manner
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling and phone triage
- Prepare specimens and ensure proper labeling and handling
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program consistent with Medical Board of California requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant; externship completion required
- NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required
- NHA Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) required
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program consistent with Medical Board of California standards
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable taking vitals and supporting basic clinical procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Basic administrative skills: scheduling, phone etiquette, documentation
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy practices
- Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail and reliability
