Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a busy med/surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate smooth patient care transitions
• Educate patients and families to promote recovery and prevent readmission
• Document care promptly and accurately in the electronic health record
• Mentor and support teammates to maintain a positive, high-performing unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of recent med/surg or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS; specialty certifications a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Proficient with medication administration and IV therapy
• Experience with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Skilled in patient and family education and discharge planning
