Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment plans
- Deliver meaningful interventions to improve patient independence in daily activities
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to optimize care outcomes
- Document clinical progress clearly and timely using electronic health records
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies and home programs
- Assess and recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
- Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in Massachusetts (required)
- Entry level to experienced OTRs welcome; clinical experience in outpatient or rehab settings preferred
- Active national certification (NBCOT) preferred when applicable
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and documentation skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
Education
- Master's in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Assessment of activities of daily living and functional mobility
- Therapeutic interventions for upper extremity function, ADLs, and fine motor skills
- Knowledge of splinting, adaptive equipment, and home safety recommendations
- Proficient documentation and care planning in electronic health records
- Ability to educate patients and caregivers in plain, supportive language
- Collaborative care within interdisciplinary teams
