Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies (XR, CT, MR, US, NM, Fluoro) accurately and efficiently
- Perform and supervise fluoroscopic exams including barium enemas and infant/pediatric BE procedures
- Provide onsite hospital radiology coverage, collaborating with clinicians to support patient care
- Perform light interventional procedures such as biopsies, drainages, lumbar punctures, and arthrograms
- Manage a high daily volume (approximately 90-100 studies per 8-hour shift) while maintaining quality and timeliness
- Document findings clearly in the electronic medical record and communicate urgent results to clinical teams
- Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and image-guided procedure planning
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an ACGME accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- Active or eligible for West Virginia medical license
- Proficiency with infant and pediatric barium enemas and fluoroscopic procedures
- Experience or comfort performing light IR procedures including CT and US guided biopsies, drainages, lumbar punctures, and arthrograms
- Ability to manage high case volumes while producing timely, high-quality reports
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with clinical teams
Education
- MD or DO with Diagnostic Radiology residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine interpretation
- Comfort with PACS, RIS, and DICOM workflows
- Image-guided procedural skills (CT and US guided biopsies, drainages)
- Understanding of radiation safety and pediatric imaging considerations
- Ability to prioritize cases and work efficiently in a busy hospital setting
- Clear clinical communication and consultative skills
