Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit.
- Perform thorough assessments, develop nursing plans, and document clinical findings clearly.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and per policy.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery and prevent readmissions.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
Qualifications
- Current RN license for North Carolina (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or available upon hire
- Recent Med/Surg nursing experience (preferred)
- Valid two-step TB or chest X-ray per facility policy and up-to-date immunizations
- Ability to pass background check and any required pre-employment screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (experience with Epic is a plus)
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Familiarity with medication administration, IV care, and wound care
