Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
• Support mealtime needs, feeding assistance, and ensure residents are comfortable
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Document care and observations clearly and timely in resident records
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care and promote resident dignity

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (NJ preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• State-compliant background check and TB screening per facility policy
• Previous long-term care or assisted living experience preferred but new grads are welcome
• Able to work the assigned night shift schedule (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in basic nursing assistant duties: ADLs, bathing, dressing, toileting
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Understanding of infection prevention and safe care practices
• Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with residents and families
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting preferred
