Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
• Manage acute and complex conditions including trauma, stroke, sepsis and cardiopulmonary issues
• Administer treatments and medications using Alaris infusion pumps and other ED equipment
• Perform and interpret EKGs and assist with procedures such as U/S-guided IVs and IO insertion
• Collaborate with physicians, ED techs and support staff to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Use Sunrise/Allscripts EMR and Pyxis for documentation and medication management
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during high-stress situations
• Adhere to unit protocols and contribute to a safe, efficient emergency department

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of New Hampshire (or compact RN as applicable)
• At least 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience (required for contract labor)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications (required for contract labor)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Experience with trauma care, stroke care and acute cardiopulmonary conditions
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and providing dependable weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and triage expertise
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in emergencies
• EKG interpretation and cardiopulmonary care
• Ultrasound (U/S) guided IV insertion and IO insertion
• Familiarity with Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis, Lucas Device and Hotline Rapid Infuser
• Experience with Sunrise and Allscripts EMR systems
• Strong communication, adaptability and medical terminology knowledge
• Trauma and stroke care procedural knowledge
