Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department, delivering timely, high-quality interventions
Triage patients quickly and accurately, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs
Communicate changes in patient status, diagnostic results, and treatment responses to physicians and mid-level providers
Respond rapidly and appropriately to changes in condition, initiating or adjusting interventions as needed
Give direction to ED techs, registration staff, and allied health personnel to ensure smooth patient flow
Document assessments, treatments, and patient interactions clearly and professionally

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience required
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred; Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
Able to work rotating 12-hour shifts including some weekends
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening: criminal background check, drug screen, and health/immunization screening

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program required
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong emergency department nursing principles and procedures
Rapid and accurate patient assessment and triage skills
IV therapy and operation of manual and electronic medical equipment
Basic office and computer skills for documentation and communication
Teamwork, leadership, and ability to direct allied health staff
Compassionate patient-centered communication and clinical decision making
