Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced critical care to adult patients in the Burn/Trauma ICU, delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing
• Perform wound care, manage EVDs, initiate and assist with massive transfusion protocols (MTP) and respond to codes when needed
• Assess and manage ventilators and other critical care equipment, troubleshooting and communicating changes promptly
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient-centered plans
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan of care and recovery expectations with clear, empathetic communication
• Serve as a reliable team player who asks questions, offers help and supports unit safety and quality initiatives
• Float to related ICU/PCU units when needed to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (required)
• Minimum 1 year ICU/critical care experience (trauma, burn, surgical ICU experience highly desired)
• Comfort and experience working in Burn, Trauma and Surgical ICU environments
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills — you’ll be making quick, informed decisions
• Willingness to float to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as assigned
• Required: RN; Preferred: BSN and CCRN

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with Meditech EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Proficient in wound care, EVD management and massive transfusion protocol workflows
• Ability to respond effectively to codes and high-acuity events
• Familiarity with critical care equipment, ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong critical thinking, situational awareness and interdisciplinary communication
