Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care nursing for ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changing conditions
• Perform and assist with ICU procedures such as central line and arterial line care and intubation support
• Manage ventilators and advanced ICU equipment while maintaining accurate patient assessments
• Document patient care and interventions thoroughly using the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and recovery, offering reassurance during stressful times
• Adhere to unit policies and safety protocols to maintain a safe, efficient ICU environment

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (able to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care nursing experience (experience in NVICU or similar preferred)
• ACLS certification is required
• Comfortable with critical care procedures: central line/A-line care, intubation, EVD care
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Team player mindset with accountability and strong communication skills; able to work nights and required weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICU equipment and monitoring (ventilators, hemodynamic monitors)
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Skilled in critical care assessments and prioritization for 2:1 patient ratios
• Experience with invasive lines (central lines, arterial lines) and airway management
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity settings and collaborate across disciplines
