Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations across abdominal and OB/GYN modalities for radiologist interpretation
• Provide safe, compassionate patient care and assist with patient transfers
• Maintain and document quality assurance activities for the ultrasound department
• Care for transducers and maintain neat, organized work areas and procedure paperwork
• Assist with ultrasound invasive procedures and support referring physicians during exams
• Participate in department accreditation efforts and help develop policy and procedure
• Pursue continuing education to meet professional and departmental requirements

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS certification in at least one category (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required)
• Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality (ABD/OB/GYN) with competence
• Willingness to seek additional RDMS certifications (RVT, RDCS) and cross-train as needed
• Comfort working with patients across the lifespan and in diverse cultural settings
• Ability to rotate shifts and travel between SEARHC sites as required

Education

• ARDMS certification in one modality required (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS). Additional RDMS categories encouraged.

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic medical sonography techniques (Abdominal and OB/GYN focus)
• Patient care, safe transfer techniques, and strong bedside manner
• Quality assurance processes and documentation
• Transducer care and maintenance, including Trophon station familiarity
• Assistance with ultrasound-guided invasive procedures
• Accreditation experience and commitment to continuing education
