Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for PCU and solid organ transplant patients
• Monitor and assess patients on telemetry and med-surg units, intervening promptly for changes in condition
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant teams for renal transplant and pre-liver workups
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Perform post-op and general surgery nursing duties with attention to safety and infection prevention
• Respond to emergencies using BLS/ACLS protocols and strong clinical judgement
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members to support recovery and discharge planning
• Float across acute care areas as needed (med-surg, telemetry, general surgery, neuro, ortho)

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state licensure required)
• Minimum 1 year of RN clinical experience (PCU, med-surg or telemetry experience preferred)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required or preferred as noted
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and post-op/transplant patient care
• Strong time management, clinical assessment, and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid organ transplant care (renal transplant, pre-liver workups)
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and med-surgical nursing
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Post-operative general surgery care
• Electronic charting in Meditech
• Emergency response using ACLS and BLS
• Patient advocacy, discharge coordination, and family education
• Effective time management and prioritization in a 1:4 patient ratio environment
