Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic and sonographic examinations across modalities to produce high-quality images for interpretation
• Execute mammography procedures including screening, diagnostic, stereotactic breast biopsy, specimen radiography, and breast needle localization
• Operate CT and interventional equipment, assist with invasive procedures, and prepare procedure suites
• Apply radiation protection principles and adjust protocols for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Maintain and document patient records, quality assurance logs, and equipment records
• Manage contrast administration using automatic injectors and perform venipuncture as needed
• Support departmental quality control, participate in daily/weekly QC tasks, and follow infection control and sterile technique
• Communicate findings and collaborate with referring physicians and teleradiology teams
• Assume department responsibility in the absence of a supervisor and participate in department meetings, in-services, and drills

Qualifications

• Current ARRT registration in Radiography (required)
• BLS certification required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
• Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic exams in assigned modalities (mammography and CT experience preferred)
• Willingness to rotate shifts, take on-call duties, and report promptly when called
• Comfortable learning and cross-training in additional imaging modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography)
• Strong patient assessment, communication, and documentation skills

Education

• Formal radiologic technology education (certificate or associate degree) and ARRT registration
• Ongoing CEUs for mammography as required by ACR/FDA

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic radiography and sonography techniques
• Mammography-specific skills: screening, diagnostic, stereotactic biopsy, specimen radiography
• CT protocols, contrast administration, and interventional procedure support
• Radiation protection and quality assurance fundamentals
• Patient assessment across age groups and ability to adjust protocols
• Teleradiology transmission, sterile technique, and venipuncture
• Infection control, documentation, and supply inventory practices
