Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to oncology and BMT ICU patients, maintaining a 2:1 patient ratio when assigned
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced ventilator care for intubated patients
• Titrate vasoactive drips safely and accurately while monitoring hemodynamic status
• Perform total care tasks including turning, dressing changes, and trach care
• Operate and monitor CRRT, A-lines, Bipap, flow-track, and IV pump therapies as indicated
• Document patient care and clinical changes clearly and promptly in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Support unit guidelines including timely shift reporting and participation in rotating weekends

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (Texas or eligible to obtain Texas license) — registered nurse required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience, strong oncology/BMT ICU experience preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management and drip titration
• Comfortable with invasive monitoring (A-line), trach care, and total care of critically ill patients
• Experience with Meditech EMR or willingness to learn quickly
• CRRT experience and transplant exposure (kidney/pancreas/liver) are strong pluses

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and advanced assessment skills
• Ventilator management and BiPAP experience
• Vasoactive drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• Trach care and complex wound/dressing management
• CRRT operation and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation workflows
• Ability to work effectively on a busy oncology ICU team and communicate with physicians
