Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, one-to-one labor nursing care and continuous fetal monitoring
• Manage labor progression and assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections as needed
• Stabilize and provide immediate newborn care and routine nursery support
• Deliver comprehensive postpartum care and family education to support recovery and infant care
• Document patient care accurately and promptly using Meditech/CPN EMR systems
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, nursery staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as part of the unit schedule

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state requirements apply)
• Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery nursing experience (required)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN fetal monitoring
• Experience with Meditech/CPN EMR and GE fetal monitors preferred
• Comfort working in a high-volume LDRP environment and managing acuity (labor 1:1 typical; postpartum/nursery 5-6:1)
• Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring interpretation and AWHONN-standard practices
• Labor management, induction/augmentation support, and intrapartum interventions
• Newborn stabilization and routine nursery care
• Postpartum assessment, breastfeeding support, and patient education
• Competence with EMR documentation (Meditech/CPN) and GE fetal monitoring equipment
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-birth-volume LDRP unit
