Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care in the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology and Interventional Neurology labs.
• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment, ensuring all supplies and documentation are ready prior to patient arrival.
• Perform complete pre- and post-procedure assessments and monitoring, communicating abnormal findings immediately to the physician or NP.
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional procedures, assist physicians and maintain sterile technique.
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and manage patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
• Document patient care, handoffs and procedure details accurately and in real time using electronic systems and MacLab/CardioLab.
• Participate in the Time Out / Full Stop safety process and uphold unit safety standards for patients and staff.
• Precept and support new staff members and contribute to ongoing professional development and unit education.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Preferred experience: Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU or IMC. New grads and Med/Surg-only nurses are not being considered at this time.
• Proven ability to independently circulate procedures and confidently assist with advanced cardiac, EP and neuro-interventional cases.
• Demonstrated competency with electronic documentation and procedure logging (MacLab/CardioLab) preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma acceptable if BS completed within 36 months of hire or candidate graduates from an accredited nursing program.

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and peri-procedural monitoring skills for cardiovascular and EP patients
• Experience with procedure room preparation and circulating during invasive procedures
• Familiarity with hemodynamics, fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound operations
• Competence in device implantation support (pacemaker/ICD) and structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO)
• Comfort with 3D mapping systems and electrophysiology lab workflows
• Strong real-time electronic documentation and procedure log entry skills
• Ability to follow Time Out / Full Stop safety processes and maintain patient safety
