Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions
• Deliver hands-on care including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and functional mobility training to improve patient outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and strategies to support recovery and prevent re-injury
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient progress
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing progress clearly and timely in the patient record
• Monitor patient safety, infection control practices, and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted California Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one
• Clinical experience in physical therapy (travel/contract experience a plus)
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) and other site-required certifications
• Strong communication and patient education skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to adapt to different clinical environments and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or equivalent degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and treatment planning for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions
• Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
• Manual therapy and modalities as appropriate
• Gait training, transfer training, and use of assistive devices
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort using electronic health records
• Strong interpersonal skills, patient education, and team collaboration
