Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality mammography imaging procedures for diagnostic interpretation while prioritizing patient comfort and safety
• Provide clear patient education, verify patient identity, and obtain informed consent before procedures
• Maintain structured reporting and accurate EHR documentation, including charges, prior studies, and audit-ready records
• Adhere to FDA guidelines, accreditation requirements, and all regulatory and radiation safety (ALARA) standards
• Complete daily QA and preventive maintenance tasks and coordinate service calls when equipment issues arise
• Suggest process improvements, coordinate training, and assist with quality improvement initiatives in breast imaging
• Assist with clerical tasks, patient transport, and cross-train or support other imaging modalities as needed
• Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory to keep the unit running smoothly and efficiently

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; successful background check and pre-employment drug screen required
• Preferred: Two years practicing experience as a Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT, MRI, or DEXA
• Comfortable using PACS, RIS/HIS, and EHR systems and working with structured reporting workflows

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (current or obtained within 90 days)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in mammography imaging procedures and breast imaging protocols
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, accreditation processes, and FDA mammography guidelines
• Hands-on experience with PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic health records
• Competence in quality assurance (QA), preventative maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting
• Commitment to radiation safety principles (ALARA) and excellent patient-care communication skills
• Ability to train and cross-train staff, suggest workflow improvements, and collaborate effectively with radiologists and team members
