Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute inpatient rehab setting and establish individualized care plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve function and mobility
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, speech therapists and rehab techs
• Document assessments, treatment plans and progress thoroughly using Cerner PowerChart
• Use patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove) and safe transfer techniques to promote safety
• Communicate evaluation results and progress clearly with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team
• Support unit goals and participate in a 1:1 patient care ratio when required

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) or equivalent degree
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year of acute care experience preferred
• Comfort working in acute care and treating orthopedic, neurologic and cardiopulmonary patients
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart or similar electronic documentation systems
• Ability to work Friday–Monday schedule with 9–10 hour day shifts

Education

• BS in Physical Therapy (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and development of individualized care plans
• Therapeutic procedures and interventions for inpatient rehab populations
• Strong documentation skills and experience with Cerner PowerChart
• Safe use of patient lifting equipment and bariatric/assistive devices
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
• Team coordination, supervision and clear interdisciplinary communication
