Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on clinical support to nursing staff for complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and ongoing educational programs for new and existing staff
• Mentor and serve as a clinical practice resource to nursing staff, enhancing skills and clinical judgment
• Act as a liaison between bedside staff and leadership to communicate concerns, feedback, and practice needs
• Analyze patient care data to identify practice gaps and develop interventions to improve care and safety
• Facilitate implementation of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with targeted staff training
• Perform quality control audits and report regulatory or safety concerns to leadership

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the State of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC certifications (required)
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards, safe medication administration, and acute care procedures
• Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments and assist with specialized procedures
• Experience with evidence-based practice implementation and quality improvement initiatives
• Skilled in clinical teaching methods, mentorship, and staff education
• Proficient with electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Critical thinking and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
