Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity cardiovascular critical care for adult CVICU patients with compassion and precision
• Manage mechanical ventilation, perform ventilator assessments and titrations as needed
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, including Swan-Ganz catheter readings
• Care for invasive lines and devices including arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes and CRRT circuits
• Support patients on advanced cardiac support such as Impella devices and post-CABG recovery
• Document thoroughly in Meditech EMR and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members
• Collaborate with nursing colleagues and providers to deliver safe, timely, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar) — candidates without this will not be considered
• Demonstrated ventilator experience and competence in arterial/central line and chest tube management
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheters
• Comfort working 2:1 patient ratios in a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU
• Preferred: CVICU-specific experience, CABG recovery, CRRT and Impella exposure
• Preferred: Meditech EMR experience
• Preferred: BSN and/or CCRN certification

Education

• RN licensure required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (Swan-Ganz, arterial lines)
• Chest tube management and post-op cardiac care
• Familiarity with CRRT (NextStage) operations and safety
• Experience with Impella and other cardiac assist devices
• Proficient documentation in Meditech EMR
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based CVICU environment
• Comfort with GE monitors, EV1000 and Hemispheres monitoring systems
