Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-quality patient care to medical/surgical and critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, arterial lines (A-lines), central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Assess patients, implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision, and adjust care as clinical needs evolve
Act as a clinical leader: precept staff, give direction to RN/LPN/CNA and support staff, and collaborate with charge nurses and providers
Manage patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning and coordination with interdisciplinary teams
Document patient care accurately and communicate changes in condition to the care team and leadership

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure required
BLS and ACLS required
Recent experience in Critical Care nursing and practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit is required
PALS, EPNC, TNCC preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead clinically and precept staff

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced nursing principles and procedures for critical care and medical/surgical patients
Advanced patient monitoring and ventilator/ventilation support management
Central line and arterial line (A-line) management and care
Proficiency with multiple IV pumps and IV therapies
Chest tube management and invasive line care
Clinical leadership, precepting, and effective interdisciplinary communication
