Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on medical care at a contracted high school, focusing on injury prevention, immediate response, and rehabilitation
• Assess, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal injuries using thorough histories and physical evaluations
• Lead concussion evaluation and management, including symptom monitoring and supervised return-to-play progression
• Design and implement rehabilitation and job-specific conditioning programs to support safe return to sport and work
• Perform functional progress assessments and post-offer employment testing (POETs) to assist patients, employers, and physicians
• Document evaluations and treatments accurately and communicate clear plans with athletes, parents, coaches, and clinical team members
• Coordinate schedules and provide event coverage for practices, games, and after-school activities, including evenings and occasional weekends
• Work as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic by taking histories, scheduling surgeries, and educating patients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• 1+ years of related work experience required
• Current Athletic Trainer license for the state of Wisconsin required
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (ATC) required
• BLS certification required
• Valid, current driver's license required
• Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Musculoskeletal examination and evaluation skills
• Concussion assessment and management
• Emergency care and first-response for athletic injuries
• Injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation planning
• Occupational health tasks including POETs and desk assessments
• Intermediate to expert computer proficiency and documentation skills
• Ability to educate patients and coordinate with coaches and clinical teams
