Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate surgical services operations to ensure safe, efficient patient care and smooth OR workflow
Supervise, mentor, and delegate to perioperative staff, fostering a high-performing team environment
Identify operational challenges in the surgical department and implement both short-term fixes and long-term solutions
Maintain composure and direct emergency responses when critical situations arise, ensuring patient and staff safety
Collaborate with physicians, ancillary departments, and peers to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization
Monitor quality metrics, compliance, and standards of care while driving continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
Minimum 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery
Current California RN license required
Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS required
CNOR preferred; one year PACU experience preferred
Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred
Strong written and oral English skills

Education

Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing expertise and surgical services management
Circulating RN experience and effective patient care practices
Emergency response capability and calm decision-making under pressure
Problem identification and practical solution implementation
Delegation, team leadership, and supervisory skills
Clear communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
