Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for outpatient clients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team at Highland Care Center to create meaningful rehabilitation goals
• Document patient progress and treatment plans clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and community resources
• Adapt treatment plans to meet each patient’s functional goals and returning them to valued roles
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered clinic culture

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification (required)
• Active state licensure/registration as required by Utah to practice as a COTA
• Ability to commit to a 13-week contract with a guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Strong outpatient or rehab experience preferred but enthusiastic new grads with clinical readiness are welcome
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field (typical for COTA roles)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of outpatient occupational therapy evaluation and intervention strategies
• Skilled in activity analysis, functional treatment planning, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Comfortable with thorough documentation and outcome tracking
• Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time efficiently in a clinic setting
• Patient-centered approach with sensitivity to diverse populations
