Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention efforts across the hospital with clarity and purpose
• Collaborate with operating room and sterile processing teams to ensure best practices
• Conduct surveillance, audits, and risk assessments to identify infection trends
• Develop, update, and implement infection control policies and protocols
• Provide engaging education and training to clinical and support staff
• Investigate potential outbreaks and coordinate timely responses and reporting
• Support quality improvement initiatives that reduce infection risk and improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Proven experience in infection control within a community hospital setting
• Hands-on experience with operating room and sterile processing infection prevention
• Demonstrated hospital-wide infection control experience and clinical nursing background
• Strong communication skills for education, reporting, and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to perform audits, surveillance activities, and data-informed decision making

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control principles
• Familiarity with sterile processing practices and OR workflows
• Infection surveillance, audit techniques, and basic data analysis
• Policy development, staff education, and performance improvement
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence clinical teams
