Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based evaluation methods
• Develop individualized treatment plans that help patients reach meaningful goals
• Provide skilled SLP therapy across speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia domains
• Collaborate closely with nursing, therapy colleagues, and family members to coordinate care
• Document clear, timely notes and progress reporting in the facility EHR
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support communication and safety
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to ensure measurable improvements and great outcomes

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• Active California SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience assessing and treating adult dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with facility EHRs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate approach to patient care

Education

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical competency in speech, language, cognition, and swallowing evaluations
• Skilled in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
• Knowledge of dysphagia management and safe swallow strategies
• Comfortable using augmentative and alternative communication when needed
• Proficient with clinical documentation and outcome tracking
• Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
