End Date: 08-15-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day shift, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; includes weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage; no block scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the operating room and sterile field for procedures with meticulous attention to detail
Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during Level 1 trauma and high-acuity cases
Ensure accurate instrument counts and documentation for every case
Provide on-call support and respond promptly to emergent surgical activations
Adapt quickly to different OR teams and environments, especially when travel experience is involved
Support patient safety and quality by following established sterile technique and OR protocols

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
Demonstrated Operating Room (OR) experience
Level 1 Trauma experience required
Travel experience preferred or required (as noted in posting)
Availability for weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage
High proficiency surgical skills; burn experience preferred

Education

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR procedures
Experience with Level 1 trauma case flow and rapid response
Familiarity with burn cases and specialized instrumentation (preferred)
Excellent instrument handling, setup, and passing skills
Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize in emergent situations
Clear communication with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff
